A fragment, recovered. The “--MORE--” at the end suggests a longer document that may yet surface. Written two years after the FreeMind mind map, the concept has sharpened into something nameable: Babushka. Sixteen years before Gigogne.

This CMS is supposed to describe real world objects properties and elements through the hierarchical relationships in between elements.

Rather than focussing on the page as a defined ensemble; the CMS considers real world objects and their dependencies.

Websites like any communication mean establish a description of objects supposed to enable a representation of those; the idea of this CMS is to create a sort of an archive of objects properties — in order to establish this representation more accurately.

Page metaphor in recent frameworks gave birth to the MVC set of principles where the focus is on the application ease of development and deployment. MVC stands for Model View Controller and allows for a clear and optimised repartition of task through the web application: what gets the data, what computes the data, what displays the data.

An object is a container; it contains other elements containing themselves other elements. The combination of those elements creates a meaningful ensemble.

The page metaphor corresponds here to the level and amount of dependencies to be displayed for a given object. Some pages might display only siblings, or only children of 1 level. Some pages on the other hand might use the whole tree in order to show the complete generational relationship.

An image element can contain its thumbnail image as well as a higher resolution image and a text — the text can then be interpreted as the caption of the image; by accessing the object image and its inner children the code can find out about the lower and higher size image.

This conception of a describing database rather than a pre-fixed set of objects relating to the metaphor of pages on the web allows a greater computation of models.

Format such as XML and the extended use of RSS feeds proved already the inaccuracy of the organisational model of pages — information is not browsed anymore on a page basis, the notion of flux is omni-present.

This process of archiving objects is clearly inspired by earlier artistic attempt at recording the world. --MORE--
